My Stem Cell Therapy Experience At WSCC

As many of you know, I have been a part of the World Stem Cells Clinic team for about a year and a half, but I hadnt experienced what it was like to receive SCT, until 10 days ago.

As a community manager, I get to answer patients questions and inquiries, and most of them are related to it feels like to actually receive the therapy. Luckily, for myself, my team decided that it was time for me to experience it myself and to actually be able to tell, from my personal experience, what it is like to receive it.

Today, I will be answering some of the most common questions regarding the therapy, as well as my overall, WSCC Experience.

Top Questions Regarding Stem Cell Therapy

Is It Painful?

Not at all. Im normally a person that is super scared of needles, and everything related to medicine. However, in the hands of Dr. Eduardo Ulloa and our Scientist chief Antonio, I didnt feel a thing when the IV came in. I want you to note that I have really thin veins, so it can be really tricky to get the IV placed correctly at first try, and they did it right away with absolute perfection, and no pain at all.

Is Cancun Safe?

Yes, yes, yes. I actually got a funny story to prove it. My mother came with me to “support me” AKA “vacation” during my therapy. So one night after getting out of work we decided to have dinner at this beautiful spot in front of the ocean. She allegedly knew how to use public transportation, and we ended up taking the wrong stop, then got lost walking to the hotel at 10 pm at night. I was honestly really surprised by the confidence that you can feel by walking at that time, many hotel employees are shifting turns, so the street is packed with people and everybody is friendly and nice. I never felt by any means insecure or scared, on the other hand, it felt as if it was a walk at 5 pm. So, nothing to worry about when it comes to safety.

Additionally, the clinic accommodates you in a resort that is located right across the street from the facilities, so its located in a nice/extremely safe area of the city.

How Are The Facilities?

Honestly, top class. From the moment that the shuttle leaves you at the front door, the patient coordinators are waiting for you to walk you to the medical offices. The building is almost new, the elevators are new, and the facilities of the clinic are just amazing. From the moment you walk in you can smell the incredible aromatherapy. You get to see the state of the art lab from different windows, and the medical offices have incredible views that allow you to see the city and a part of the lagoon that is next to the sea. I was blown away.

What Type of Hygiene/Protocols Are Followed?

For the lab, the procedures are insane. Antonio, the lab scientist, goes through a cabin of sterilization before going into the lab, and every time he goes in, he has to wear a brand new special suit. Inside the lab (no one can come in but him, but you can see it from a see-through window. Even the A/C has a special mechanism that kills bacterias. Every single procedure is done inside of special machines that are designed to ensure the purity and sanitization of everything and the lab is completely locked, so the air from the outside never gets there. Additionally, the lab has a different atmospheric pressure than the rest of the facilities to ensure hygiene and optimal performance. Even though, Im a part of the staff I was surprised and honestly humbled to see that I get to be a part of such an amazing organization

Where were the stem cells from your treatment obtained from?

Since they were used for longevity purposes, they were obtained from umbilical cords.

How Long Did The Procedure Last For?

About 3 hours, but to me, it felt like 20 minutes because I was sitting on a reposet while receiving the IV, and I fell asleep.

How Are You Feeling Right Now?

Better than ever! I’m 28 years old and Im a pretty active person. However, after SCT I feel 17 again! I havent experienced that sugar blood drop that you feel at 4 pm, or that sleepiness that you get during the morning. Contrary, I feel insanely good.

My World Stem Cells Clinic Experience

I have been a part of the WSCC team since May 2018, so I wasnt expecting to be treated as a patient, but as a staff member. However, my overseers decided differently and they gave me the exact treatment that a regular patient would receive.

From the moment that I got to the airport, a transportation shuttle from the company was already waiting for me on my gate, ready to take me to my hotel to get settled. On the day of the therapy, the same shuttle came to pick me up, even when the hotel is right in front of the street! The landscapes are just stunning, and even the short drive to the hotel is a pleasure.

At the arrival, the patient coordinators are waiting for you at the door and ready to take you to the clinic’s offices. The building, the lobby, and the facilities, in general, are top, and everything is ridiculously clean.

At the clinic, the reception and facilities smell like lavender-peppermint organic aromatherapy, and every single corner of the place is sterilized

The staff and medical team are like a family. You never get to experience that terrifying fear or that “hospital feeling”. On the other hand, they come and chat with you, offer you organic tea, and even give you a blanket for you to sleep and for children they keep stuffed toys handy in order for them to relax and stay calm.

I would say that my overall experience was extremely nice, to the point that I felt sad when I came home. To the point where I can say that I felt even prouder to be a part of the WSCC family.

As an additional note, I want to mention that the fact that the clinic is located in the Mexican Caribbean is a serious game-changer. Cancún is honestly one of the most beautiful places that I have seen, and since you are constantly watching the stunning landscapes and ocean, it feels like a medical-vacation-getaway.

Although my WSCC experience was not related to ASD and was done for longevity purposes, I wanted to share with you my overall thoughts so you can have a clearer picture of what your child and you will face when you come to Cancun.

I can not express how grateful I am to have received the therapy, and I look forward to visiting again! Below, you will find a video of my experience after 10 days of receiving my SCT IV.
